HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) – According to officials at abc13.com, a major multivehicle crash on the North Freeway on Monday afternoon sent several people to the hospital.
Houston TranStar confirmed a crash involving at least three vehicles at 1:20 p.m., and shortly after, at 1:37 p.m., another crash involving nine vehicles was confirmed at the same location.
According to Houston TranStar, the chain-reaction crashes on IH-45 North northbound at SH 249 Mount Houston Road were cleared at 3:18 p.m.

According to the Houston Fire Department, an SUV flipped, and a minivan, an 18-wheeler, and an RV were also involved in the chain reaction.
According to first responders, at least five people were taken to the hospital.
The extent of the injuries is unknown, but HFD reported that someone had a broken nose.
After crews quickly cleared the roads, SkyEye video shows investigators scoping out the scene.
It is unknown what caused the major accident.
